How many of these have you tried?
Rock candy is a very special candy within the list. Unlike other kinds of candies, texture is not the main feature of rock candy. Colourful appearance with different cartoon patterns sculptured inside, rock candy can always attracts many people's attention. I often receive this candy as a brithday persent in my childhood. Also, rock candy can be dissolved in tea and it is an important part of the tea culture in Australia and some other countries. However, the taste of rock candy is not as good as it's looking. I think this candy is over sweet and become to icky. In view of this, I would give a 7/10.
These adorable candy bears are always 'beary' delicious. They come in a variety of fruity flavours and are one of the classic candies. The main ingredient of them are Gum arabic which is originated from India. It is a kind of natural material extracted from the acacia tree. The history of Gummy Bear candy had deep roots in the times around 1920s. Haribo company was the first maker at that time. Nowadays many companies still produce this old fashion candy and the sales have never decreased so far. The world's largest Gummy Bear weights 5-pounds and is the equivalent of 1,400 regular sized Gummy bears. From my point of view, since Gummy Bear is so moreish and interesting, my rate of recommendation is 9/10.
Milk candy is a popluar kind of candy all over the world. The first milk candy was originated from Switzerland in 1875, before that, various candy companies have began to produce milk candy gradually. The early milk candy flavour is very strong and mellow that it stays in the mouth for a long time. Nowadays, some milk candies are starting to cut corners on ingredients and the milky flavour is not enough. However, there are still a lot of people love milk candy so much. No matter what kind of occasions, the milky sweet taste can always bring a big smile to everyone's face. To me, milky candy is like a cure for unhappiness. I gave it 8/10.
Cotton candy is a familiar candy to all of us. It comes in a variety of attractive colours and it's distinctive appearance can always bring out the best in people. Nothing could compare with this sweet fluffy stuff. Cotton candy was invented by a dentist in 1897 and it used to be called "Fairy Floss". In some parts of the world, it still goes by that name. Eating cotton candy was a unique experience to me. Like a cloud brushed in rainbow colour, it is very tactile and pillowy. It tastes like a light fruity flavour that melts in the mouth and leaves a sweet taste for a long time. If you have not tried cotton candy before, I would strongly recommend 9/10.
Lollipops are one of the most economical candies. With the lowest price can experience the most long lasting sweetness. Of course this is not the main reason why it is so popular. The word 'Lollipop' has been around since 1796 and the long history of the lollipop has been existed for hundreds of years. Different styles, flavours and shapes have kept this old fashion candy at the top of the candy world. When I was a kid, during Halloween, kids would do trick or treat with a lollipop in their mouth and have fun together. In addition, lollipops are also very helpful for people who try to quit smoking. The medicinal uses of lollipops are very extensive. Have to say this is a proper 10/10.
The best thing about soft candy is juicy and chewy. These morsels have been around between the 6th and 4th centuries. Soft candy is the ancestor of candy as they are very easy to store and carry around. Taking a few of these soft candies on a long trip might help to bring you a good mood. In the meantime, soft candies are great for sharing, or making friends. Back to the day when I was in primary school, I used to buy a big bag of soft candies and share it with all my friends during class break. These candies are always my best memories. I do not eat much nowadays but I still cannot easily forget the delicacy of it. I would rate it 8/10.
Before the day I came to Australia, I have already heard about the tasty candy called TimTam. As a senior candy buff, I was so excited and expected. As expected, this chocolate biscuit has a different texture than a regular chocolate biscuit. Thick milk chocolate with crunchy biscuit will give your mouth and body a close contact with Australia. In addition, is is also an amusement to local kids. 'Tim Tam Slam' is a game which involves biting opposite corners of the biscuit and sucking milk through the corner like it’s a straw. When the inside chocolate turns soft, the whole biscuit will melt in the mouth slowly. Just imagine how enjoyable the moment is. Overall, from my first hand experience, I recommend 10/10.
Unlike Tim Tam, this milky candy bar adds in another wonderful flavour which is Toffee. Toffee is butterscotch that has been cooked for a long period of time. In my opinion, toffee has a finer texture than caramel when it melts in your mouth. Silky and brittle will be the best words to describe toffee. This milky candy bar has absolutely the best combination within all kinds of candies. It also has a strong staying power that it has been popular since 1923. I remember the day I tried milky candy bar (snickers), I did not eat for a whole day as it brought my body tonnes of energy and stamina. This is why it is also called the energy bar. Overall, it is so delicious and gives people energy, I would say another 9/10.
